Youth Meeting 6/23/2016

1) How are things going so far?

• ·         Storybook Opera was a hit and she was very engaging, which more people would have showed up
• ·         Toddler and Baby Paint were overall pretty well attended and received. The babies weren’t as into it as toddlers, but that can be changed.
• ·         Martin stated the Tabletop Gaming was a success and the kids really enjoyed themselves!!

2) Display for July

·         Both Lauren’s stated  that July was National Ice Cream Month, as well as National Hot Dog Month

·         Jayla ordered some books for the display

3) Snacks for Tweens and Teens

• ·         Martin will just be providing these for the teens and tweens during the Super Smash Brothers Tournament

4) Children Injury Prevention Program

• ·         Lauren suggested that we do the program during the month of July, suggested a Saturday would be best.
•      Jayla will contact Sara to set this up

5) Hispanic Heritage Month

•          Sugar Skulls September 28th @ 4 PM (teen program)
•          Preschool Storytime with Last Stop on Market Street on September 20th at 10 AM
•          Veggie Planting OR Seed Bombs October 1st at 11 AM (Family program -- I didn't write down the date for this one so I am not sure if this is the correct time or not!)

6) Outreach Event

• ·    Alexandra Elementary Back to School event, August 17^th and 18^th 5-7 PM
• ·         Jayla will email Ms. Dang back to confirm this event.
